The second training session of the SmartShip project, along with the 1st Exploitation workshop, took place on September 19th-20th, 2022, at Ecole des Ponts Business School (EPBS) in Paris.
The event aimed to bring together SmartShip consortium partners and the public to discuss the project's societal impact and challenges. The training session featured presentations from EPBS-CERC and DANAOS management staff. Dr. Giorgos Demetriou, Director of the Circular Economy Research Center (CERC), opened the session, which included three interventions with presentations about SmartShip architecture by SmartShip project coordinator Fotis Oikonomou from DANAOS, a presentation by Saman Sarbazvatan from the Ecole des Ponts Business School about the Circular Economy and New Technologies, and a presentation by Vlatka Katusic from the Circular Economy Research Center about implementing circular economy concepts in the SmartShip project.
Furthermore, the 1st SmartShip exploitation workshop aimed to transfer knowledge to consortium partners in applying Dynamic Business Models (DBM) and identifying possible avenues for collaboration between project partners. Dr. Giorgos Demetriou opened the workshop, which included a presentation and a workshop using the Dynamic Business Modeling framework developed by Alon Rozen, dean of the Ecole des Ponts Business School.
The workshop used the DBM framework as a methodology to improve go-to-market strategies for analytical platforms proposed within the SmartShip project for holistic energy efficiency, fuel consumption, and emissions management of vessels.
