Mr Jakub Rola and Mr Piotr Kowalski have successfully completed their secondments at Harakopio University of Athens from July 2019 to September 2019 (3 PMs). The secondment was linked with WP7, and in particular with Task 7.3. During the secondment, Piotr and Jakub got knowledge about the maritime industry, existing solutions, and algorithms that will help develop software for planning vessel routes and cost optimization on the next stage of the SmartShip project. Dr Konstantinos Tserpes, Mr Antonios Makris and Mr Ioannis Kontopoulos organized pieces of training about machine learning techniques and predictive trajectory of vessel routes based on data collected by HUA from Piraeus port. They have also participated in meetings at DANAOS premises where SmartShip use case scenarios were discussed.
